Amelia Chacko Jacob

Senior Physiotherapist

Meet Amelia Chacko Jacob, our Senior Physiotherapist at River Physio Singapore. With a decade of experience and a compassionate touch, she’s here to help you move better, feel better, and maybe even laugh a little along the way. Amelia holds a Bachelor of Science in Physiotherapy (Honours) from the National University of Malaysia and a Master’s in Advancing Physiotherapy Practice from Queen Margaret University in Edinburgh, where she specialized in neuro rehabilitation. She’s essentially a superhero in physiotherapy, minus the cape.

Her career includes significant roles at prestigious institutions like Gleneagles Hospital Singapore, Movement for the Intellectually Disabled Singapore, Vanguard Care Home Singapore, and St Luke’s Hospital Singapore. Her skills are as impressive as her résumé, focusing on:

Neuro Rehabilitation: Specialized techniques to tackle neurological conditions, backed by her expertise from Queen Margaret University—because brains are kind of a big deal.

Manual Therapy: Hands-on magic to help improve movement and alleviate pain—think of it as a gentle push in the right direction.

Sports Massage: A blend of relaxation and recovery techniques aimed at keeping athletes in top shape, or at least convincing them that sitting on the couch is an Olympic sport.

Soft Tissue Manipulation: Techniques to tackle muscle, tendon, and ligament issues—because no one likes to feel like a human pretzel.

Special/Intellectual Disability Care Needs: Tailored care that’s as compassionate as it is effective, ensuring everyone feels understood and supported.

Personal Training and Clinical Pilates:Advanced skills in training and Pilates, with two levels completed—because getting fit shouldn’t be as hard as her workouts.

Amelia sees the human body as a ‘wonderland,’ full of both challenges and potential for recovery. She believes it’s a privilege to help people feel physically better, and she’s always up for building connections with her patients. Her professional goal? To be the ‘go-to’ physiotherapist for anyone who needs a hand—literally and figuratively.

When she’s not working her physiotherapy magic, Amelia is passionate about fitness and wellness. She’s currently learning to play the guitar and swim, proving that you’re never too old to pick up new skills—or a new hobby. She also enjoys cycling and taking long walks or hikes with friends, because staying active is the best kind of fun.

With her blend of expertise, passion, and a touch of humor, Amelia is a valuable asset to the River Physio Singapore team, committed to enhancing the health and well-being of every patient she encounters.
